Treasure State Studios is Montana owned production studio & post production facilities. The studio is focused on providing services & equipment to visiting productions, employing & developing local filmmakers, & educating the next generation of storytellers.
Flexible insert sound stage with a white cyclorama wall with DMX controlled RGB lighting on a 12’6″ overhead grid. Lighting can be manually controlled via light board or programmed to sync with music or other cues.
Our post facilities include multiple editing bays, 5.1 mixing stage, control room, isolation booth suitable for ADR, VO, podcasts, music recording, sound effects & foley pit.
Studio rental includes a, “Grandma’s Parlor Chic” green room, “A River Runs Through It” themed hair/make-up/wardrobe suite, and a full bathroom.
We have industry standard equipment and a 3 ton grip truck. We can provide and deliver whatever you need for your location shoot.
The studio combined with Shoot Montana’s experienced crew, equipment, and trucks will assist the production of feature length films, 30 second spots, and everything in between for both local and visiting productions.
We host frequent bootcamps to train Montanans with the goal of creating a large pool of talented & experienced film professionals. Film production provides fun, good paying & sustainable jobs for Montanans.

A new film production outlet has premiered in Missoula.
Treasure State Studios, located on West Harrier Drive, has been renovated and stocked with equipment for shooting, editing and mixing for local and visiting productions.
Co-owner John D. Nilles, a Missoula filmmaker, said they aim to “provide services for out-of-state companies and get jobs for locals,” and also ensure that local filmmakers “have a voice in the growth” happening in their industry.
Nilles has directed a feature film, “Saving for the Day,” along with documentaries, commercial work and music videos.[…]
